Corvette News Summary | November 2022
November was an intense month for C8 Z06s headlines! We had the first z06s being delivered, youtubers getting their z06s, more parts constraints, and z06 order information, plus we released our C8 configurator. Let's jump into the cockpit and see what happened in the world of Corvettes in November.
New Visible Carbon Fiber C8 Corvette Z06 Accessory Spoiler Released
Chevy is working hard to continue production of the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and is increasing anticipation for the vehicle by releasing Z06-specific accessories on GM's parts website.
One of the most notable accessories recently released is the Visible Carbon Fiber Z06 Spoiler Kit, which offers a sleek and stylish look for the 2023 Corvette Z06's rear deck without the need for the Z07 performance package. The spoiler is available for purchase at a cost of $5,795, including installation, and is considered by many Corvette enthusiasts to be a good option for spending their GM Reward Points, which are valued at $5,000.

The 2023 Corvette Z06 Price Comparisons
In a recent blog post from CorvetteBlogger by Alex Sommers, he compared the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to several other cars in its price range and found that it was quite expensive, even after factoring in the gas guzzler tax. He also suggested some alternative options for those who cannot afford or do not want to spend that much money on a car, including the McLaren 650S, Porsche 911 GT3, Audi R8 V10, and Aston Martin DBS. He also suggested a two-car combo of the Camaro ZL1 1LE and the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.
Audi R8 Spyder
McLaren 650S
Porsche 911 GT3
Sommers' Z06/z07 came in at $175k, and we have seen customers tell us that their Z will be around the $130k mark. That's a big variance and at the end of the day, it is difficult to adequetely compare the cars. We are all choosing different options, which effects the bottom line, and the bottom line is that we are assigning a price tag for our fun factor, and the C8 Z06 is that fun factor for many enthusiasts.

More Z06 Corvettes to be Allocated in November
Chevrolet will reportedly have two order cycles for the Z06 in November, with the first covering the Stingray and the second specifically for the Z06. This comes after Chevy opened the order books for the Z06 on July 27 and the first round of allocations was sent to dealers on August 18.
It was then announced that no more Z06 orders would be accepted through the end of 2022. The latest order cycle could allow for Z06 production to start at the beginning of the year, assuming the metered ramp-up is successful.
The assembly plant has been building about two Z06s per day and as of today, 49 Z06s have been produced since they first started in September. The rate may soon be increased.

2023 Corvette Z06 VIN 001 Rolls Off Production Line
The first 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has rolled off the production line in Bowling Green.
The vehicle is a 70th Anniversary Coupe in Carbon Flash Black and was built for Chevrolet dealer and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick. Hendrick paid $3.6m at Barrett-Jackson in January for the right to have the first Z06 VIN 001, which he also donated to charity.
The photo signals the end of the quality control hold on the first Z06s. Chevrolet has released the photo on its social media platforms and says the vehicle is "ready to dominate a street near you".

2023 Corvette Z06 Begins R8C Museum Delivery Program at National Corvette Museum
The first 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been delivered to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The vehicle is covered in a white shipping cover, but appears to be red and is equipped with the Z07 package, visible carbon fiber wheels and yellow brake calipers.
It is believed that the delivery to the museum marks the start of the roughly two- to three-week period before the vehicle is handed over to the owner. The museum schedules 55 deliveries per week.

Ciocca and Hendrick Receive Delivery of Multiple C8 Corvette Z06s
Two recent videos show both Ciocca and Hendrick Chevrolet receiving several C8 Z06s.
Posted by Jeff Zipity on his YouTube channel, we get to see the delivery of five new C8 Corvette Z06s at Ciocca Chevrolet in New Jersey. These cars, straight from the Bowling Green assembly plant in Kentucky, still had their white shipping covers on and were delivered along with some new Stingrays.
The Z06s delivered include an Elkhart Lake Blue 3LZ, a Pearl White 70th Anniversary Convertible, and a 70th Anniversary Carbon Flash Convertible. The 70th Anniversary Carbon Flash Convertible featured the Z07 package and Carbon Ceramic Edge Red caliper options. In contrast, one of the Pearl White Z06s had a high wing spoiler, and the other two had low wing spoilers installed.
Some of the options on these Z06s include the Carbon Fiber Dive Plane, ceramic brakes, Carbon Fiber side skirts, Carbon Fiber interior and steering wheel, and Z07 package.

Rick Hendrick, Chevrolet dealer and NASCAR team owner, received a delivery of six new 2023 Corvette Z06s at City Chevrolet in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The cars were first loaded onto a Hendrick Motorsports auto transporter in Bowling Green, Kentucky, at the Corvette Assembly Plant. The VIN 002 2023 Corvette Z06 with the 70th Anniversary Package was the first to be unloaded from the transporter, followed by the 70th Anniversary Z06 VIN 001, and then the VIN 003 Corvette Z06.
The Black with Red interior VIN 001 Corvette Z06 Coupe with the Z07 performance package was also unloaded. Once the cars were moved inside, Hendrick took the VIN 002 70th Z06 for a test drive around the facility.

2023 Corvette Stingray: November Production Constraints
The November order cycle for the 2023 Corvette Stingray is now open and the latest constraint information has been released.
The nationwide constraints for the Z51/non-Z51 Stingray are split roughly at 65/35. Dealers have received their allocation numbers and are working to fill orders by the end of the week. Still on constraint this month are the 5ZZ High Wing Spoilers in Carbon Flash Metallic and the Q9I 20-spoke Gloss Black Forged aluminum wheels, both of which have "0 availability" nationwide.
The Edge Red brake calipers have also returned to the Build and Price configurator.

2023 Corvette Z06 Cross-Country Journey to Reach 1500-Mile Mark
In a recent video posted on Speed Phenom (Austin)'s YouTube channel, Austin takes viewers on a journey across several US states in his new 2023 Corvette Z06. The goal of the journey is to test the durability of the Z06 and reach the 1500-mile mark, which is necessary in order to use the Launch Control and participate in competitive racing.
Austin attends a car meet and rally, and successfully reaches the 1500-mile mark before encountering a tire puncture and having to stop in Van Horn, Texas. You can watch the video below:

Z06 Constraints Yet To Be Announced
As usual, Chevrolet was expected to announce the specifications for the Z06 during the week of November 21st, which is the week following the week when the total number of Z06 orders are given out. However, this year's Thanksgiving holiday disrupted schedules and caused the announcement to be delayed.
Similarly, the planned release of the DOSP was also delayed, which has pushed back the expected dates for reaching status 2000 and status 3000 for these orders. They were originally expected to reach these milestones by November 30th and December 3rd, respectively, but the delays have pushed these dates further into the future.
