Upgrade your 2014+ C7 Corvette's grill with this LED front grill
Introduction
Introducing the ACS Five7 Front Bumper Grill, a new addition for the 2014-2019 C7 Corvette Stingray, Grand Sport, and Z06 models. This Z06 grill combines functionality with a sleek design, enhancing the front end of your Corvette.
It offers improved airflow and a modern aesthetic that complements the aggressive look of the C7 Corvette. The ACS Five7 Front Bumper Grill integrates LED lights that align perfectly with your car's daytime running lights.
Enhance your Corvette's visibility and add a distinctive look with this seamlessly designed grill, painted in Carbon Flash Metallic Black to perfectly match the OEM finish.
For 2014+ Stingray owners, the OEM Corvette front grill includes a chrome bar that runs across the front, resembling a set of braces. Many Corvette owners are not fond of this look and often seek alternatives to hide or replace it.
The ACS Five7 or Five1 Grill offers a complete carbon flash black grill that eliminates the chrome bezel entirely, upgrading your Corvette to a more Z06 OEM appearance.
The Design of the Five7 Front Bumper Grill
The ACS Five7 Front Bumper Grill is a unique fusion of two designs: our Five1 Front Grill and the OEM Z06 Front Grill. This combination brings together the best elements of both, providing an updated look that retains the aggressive styling Corvette owners love.
We’ve integrated LED lights into the grill. These lights run parallel to your car’s daytime running lights, enhancing visibility and adding a modern touch to your Corvette. The LEDs are seamlessly integrated, maintaining a clean and cohesive look.
The grill is painted in Carbon Flash Metallic Black, perfectly matching the OEM finish. This paint provides a sleek, glossy look that complements the C7 Corvette’s aesthetics. For more details on this paint finish, check out our blog: What is Carbon Flash Metallic Black?.
How to Install Five7 Front Bumper Grill
Step 1: Preparation and Initial Steps
To install the ACS Five7 Front Bumper Grill on your C7 Corvette, start by raising the car with a lift or jack stands and disconnecting the battery for safety. Begin by removing the undertray, which involves taking out the 7mm screws in the front and 10mm screws in the rear.
If your car has deflectors, remove them for better access. Next, remove the 10mm bolts in the rear tray, holding the tray as you remove the last bolt to prevent dust and dirt from falling.
Step 2: Removing the Bumper
Proceed by removing the three T15 screws from each wheel well liner. Open the hood and remove the fastener under the trim bezel, followed by the pushpins on the front leading edge and the T30 bolts.
Carefully unsnap the bumper from the fender using trim tools and a towel to protect the paint. Ensure the bumper is fully unsnapped from all areas. Disconnect the side marker by pulling the grey tab towards the center of the car and applying pressure to remove it. With assistance, slide the bumper off and set it on a workbench.
Step 3: Grill Removal and Modification
Next, remove the existing grill by taking off the 7mm bolts and retainer clip and using a 90-degree trim tool to release all the perimeter tabs. Modify the lower bumper reinforcement by drilling two 1/4-inch holes with a 1/2-inch offset and installing U clips with the flat surface towards the rear.
Step 4: Installing the New Grill
Insert the new ACS Five7 Grill, aligning all tabs and snaps until they click into place. Modify the radiator shroud and ductwork by using 3/4-inch tape to mark the flange, making vertical cuts with a utility knife, and trimming about an inch off the Z51 ductwork. Clean up the surfaces with sandpaper.
Step 5: LED Lights and Camera Installation
For grills with LED lights, use the supplied harness and controller to wire the LED lights to the side marker harness. Tap into the side marker wires using a T-tap system, connecting the purple wire for power and the black wire for ground.
Test the lights to check they function correctly. If your Corvette is equipped with cameras, remove the T20 bolts holding the external bezel to the original grill, unsnap the camera bezel, and unclip the harness.
Disconnect the harness and remove the two small Phillips screws at the camera’s corner. Transfer the camera to the new bezel using M4 screws and reconnect the harness.
Step 6: Reassembly and Final Checks
Reconnect the side marker and position the bumper back onto the car with assistance, ensuring all tabs are aligned and snapped in. Reinstall all previously removed fasteners, including the T30 bolts, pushpins, and trim bezel.
Reattach the undertray and wheel liners, securing all screws. Fasten the wire harness to the controller using tie wraps to secure the wiring neatly. Reconnect the battery and test all electrical components, including the side markers and LED lights.
Finally, lower the car, check for any adjustments, and ensure everything is securely fastened. Clean up your work area and perform a test drive to verify that everything functions correctly. For a visual guide, check out our installation video.
