Hood FAQ

Are hood pins required?

No. Hood pins are not required. This hood installs just like OEM, and can withstand similar speeds.

How much does the hood weigh?

Approximately 30lbs.

Do I need new hood struts?

It depends on the age of your struts. The strut gas in the cylinder is known to dissipate and weaken.

Do you make it in Carbon Fiber?

No. It is only available in RTM Composite.

Installation

Hood Installation:
  • Professional installation required.
  • Trial fit: Always perform a trial fit before painting.
  • C7 Corvette: Bumper removal is essential. Front hinge rail adjustments can be found underneath the front bumper.
Widebody Installation:
  • Professional installation required.
  • Trial fit: Ensure to fit-check before moving on to paint.
  • Estimated install time: Work can range between 4-8 hours.
Additional notes:

Wrapping the hood or widebody: It's possible to wrap the panels. Always adhere to the specific guidelines of the wrap manufacturer. Most wraps will require a painted surface, not just primer.
